The Collins building in Cathedral Street, now the Scottish Hotel School.
Prior to moving to Bishopbriggs and being taken over by Rupert Murdoch, William Collins was an independent Scottish firm and one of Britain's leading publishers.
This building was responsible for printing, warehousing and shipping millions of books, from Fontana paperbacks of the work of Agatha Christie and Alisdair Maclean to Enid Blyton paperbacks as well as dictionaries, school books, nature guides and bibles.
